The concern, and the fix.
- 01
The concernThe phone rings all day for appointments.
How it's solvedPatients find the right doctor and book a slot themselves in under a minute.
- 02
The concernPatients forget appointments and slots go empty.
How it's solvedAutomatic reminders, with one tap to confirm or reschedule.
- 03
The concernPast visits and reports are on paper and hard to find.
How it's solvedEach patient's visits and reports in one history the doctor can open instantly.
A patient app and a fast clinic website that work as one system. Patients find the right doctor, book a slot, get reminders and keep their reports in one place, while the front desk finally sees the whole day on a single screen instead of a ringing phone.
The challenge
A busy clinic handles appointments by phone, keeps records on paper and has a website patients rarely use. Front-desk staff spend most of the day on scheduling instead of patients.
What we'd build
- Mapped the patient journey from first search to follow-up visit.
- Designed a booking flow that works in under a minute on a phone.
- Adapted Jatna Parivar's medicine, reminder and lab record flows for the clinic's patients.
- Built a fast clinic website connected to the booking system.
Smart and automatic
"Yesterday HbA1c 7.2 at City Lab. Started Metformin 500 1-0-1 after food. BP 140/90 today. Stopped Telmisartan." Each item becomes a card to check, then one tap saves them all. Understood on the phone itself.
Misspellings (keratin, cholestrol), "1.5 lakh" platelets, dates like "day before yesterday" or "in 5 days", and about 150 medicine names and Indian brands.
"I took all my evening medicines" or "night ki dawai kha li" shows those doses ticked; untick any you missed and confirm once.
Ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines are recognised from how they're described; foods go to the diet chart. When unsure it asks once and remembers.
Reads the latest potassium, phosphorus or creatinine result, highlights the rule to follow and pauses the foods it names; they return when a new report is normal.
Usual repeat intervals suggested for diabetes, CKD, thyroid and more; a child's IAP vaccination schedule from birth; pet vaccines and deworming with next due dates.
Fill a sample file by hand or with an AI app and upload it. Values are checked before saving, likely typos are flagged and duplicates can be skipped or replaced.
"Same doctor?" merges one doctor written two ways; finished courses leave "Taking now"; questions on the diet chart reach the doctor's summary by themselves.
Reminders and alerts
- Dose reminders, even with the app closed
A "Taken" button right on the notification, at most two rings per dose.
- Missed-dose alert to family
"Alert me if Papa misses a dose": one notice 1, 2 or 3 hours later if it still isn't ticked.
- Refills and tests due
A notice when tablets run low, and a reminder on the morning a test or vaccine is due.
- The right phone rings
Each phone rings only for the people its owner looks after, unless switched on.
- Read aloud and calendar
Today's medicines read out slowly in the phone's voice, or added to the phone's calendar.
For the doctor
- A one-page clinical summary
Medicines with what they're for, results outside the range in bold, one trend line per test, doctors consulted and doses taken in the last 14 days.
- WhatsApp in one tap
The A4 PDF is made in the background, so sharing opens WhatsApp straight away. Nothing is ever cut across a page.
- Doctor's code, link or QR
View-only access with no account: a code, or a link that lasts 2 hours to 7 days, or a QR at the clinic. It ends by itself.
- Emergency card
Blood group, allergies, conditions, medicines and up to three emergency contacts, as a PDF or a picture.
Family and access
- One login, the whole family
Profiles for parents, children and pets, switched from Home; each person's records kept fully separate.
- Share with View or Edit
Find family by name, code or phone (shown masked), give View or Edit, change or remove it any time.
- Quick PIN on your own phone
Google sign-in once, then a 4-digit PIN on a trusted device, locked after five wrong tries.
- Support and admin
Help tickets inside the app, an admin console with uploads allowed per person, and every admin action logged.
Records and reports
- 175 lab tests and your own
Including a full blood count; add any new test, and keep the normal range printed on each lab's report.
- Trends and comparisons
Charts with a period filter and a plain trend sentence; compare two reports to see only what changed, with percentages.
- Illness timeline
Everything about one condition, oldest first: medicines started and stopped, results, documents and visits.
- Documents and bills
Reports, prescriptions, scans and discharge summaries open inside the app; bills grouped by financial year for insurance and tax.
- Your data, always yours
One PDF of chosen records for an insurance claim, spreadsheets, and a full backup with a weekly reminder.
Languages and everyday use
- English, Hindi and Odia
Every screen, notification and the doctor's summary, chosen by each person.
- Designed for people over 50
Large text, 44px touch targets, plain words, never colour alone.
- Installs like an app, works offline
One tap to install on Android, two pictured steps on iPhone.
- 01
Find
The patient lands on the website or app and filters doctors by speciality and day.
- 02
Book
They choose a slot; the clinic's calendar updates instantly so nobody is double-booked.
- 03
Visit
The front desk checks them in; the doctor sees their history before they walk in.
- 04
Follow up
Prescriptions and reports land in the app, with a reminder for the next review.
What we'd use to build it. The final choice depends on your needs and the systems you already use.
